Brutal Legend – Review

This is an action adventure game developed by Double Fine Productions, published by Electronics Arts. It is developed for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Brutal Legend will be released on October 13, 2009. Tim Schafer, the director of this game,  created this game by his own past musical experiences.

Playing Game

Brutal Legend is an action and adventure game. Brutal Legend uses open world having 64 km2 area. The player stuck in a fantasy heavy metal world. Three tools are used for combat transportation, “The Separator”, a broad axe called, “Clementine”, his Flying V guitar and “The Deuce”, a hot rod that Eddie builds. These three tools can be used in combination. There are different allies for Eddie, you’ll find them during the game play. Each ally will have separate and special co-op move they can perform with Eddie.

Plot

The story of Brutal Legend follows the story of Eddie Riggs. Brutal Legend begins one night, the leading guitarist falls from a part of the set, Set is constructed by Riggs, Eddie catches him, but the piece of scenery breaks off and lands on top of Eddie. Eddie is the “chosen one”, it is still not clear that he is the savior or the destroyer of the world. The creator of this game Tim Schafer says that the name of this game was one of the very first things he thought of, over fifteen years ago. He was riding a bus, thinking about a game that would be the complete opposite of what they were working on, The Secret of Monkey Island. And Brutal Legend leapt into his head.

Art design

The art design of Brutal Legend is based on the work done by Frank Frazetta and is inspired by heavy metal. The design of Brutal Legend is inspired by the designs of Ed “Big Daddy” Roth.

Battlefield: Bad Company – Review

This game is a first person shooter game, also known as, “Bad Company”. EA DICE developed this game. The rules of this game are changing and games are developed in a style that always engage the player in the war. This game is released in the U.S. on June 23 2008 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Second version of this game named “Battle field : Bad company 2” will also be released for Microsoft Windows platform. A fictional war is played between United States of America and Russian Federation and the player is in this war. There are some new features in the game like destroyable environment. Country names of Europe and Middle East are fictional in the game.

Plot

The story of this game revolves around the four man squad of military in a fictional war of United States of America against Russian Federation.

Characters

The squad contains Private Preston Marlowe, Private Terrence Sweetwater, a brilliant soldier.

Story

When Preston arrives, he is ready for his first mission with his new squad. The Legionnaire is a ruthless mercenary commander of “Legionnaires”, The Legionnaires are the most dangerous army in the world.

Multiplayer

Battlefield: Bad Company supports up to 24 players. Multiplayer mode can be achieved on PC dedicated servers. This game has Attackers vs. Defenders scenario.

There are 25 ranks in this game and each rank is from the U.S Army.

Awards

In this game, there are different awards for the players. If you have killed multiple enemies then you will be awarded with the trophies. If you gained curtain trophies, then you’ll be awarded with the patches.

Alone in the Dark – Review

Alone in the Dark , infro games introduced a series of survival horror computer games. In this game, the player of the game plays as private investigator. Edward Carnby goes for the investigation of a town that is full of undead creatures.

Plot outline

In 1925, an artist, Jeremy Hartwood, committed suicide. His death was suspicious. The public soon forgot the case. The player can be the role of either Edward Carnby, who is a private investigator, sent to find a piano in the loft for an antique dealer, or Emily Hartwood, Jeremy’s niece, who is also interested in finding the piano because she believes a secret drawer in it has a note in which Jeremy explains his suicide. For investigation, the player goes to the mansion. By his entrance in the house, mysteriously the door shuts behind automatically. Players can also take control of their character. The players have to fight off with various creatures and monsters in the house, in order to find a solution.

Characters

Edward Carnby

Edward Carnby is a private investigator with supernatural capabilities. Edward Carnby was sent to mansion in order to find the piano. This piano may contain a suicide note which can solve the suicide case. Instead of the mysterious shut down of door, Edward continues searching the house to find the solution of the suicide case.

Gameplay

During the game play, player has the option to choose between the male character (Edward Carnby) and the female character (Emily Hartwood). Edward is the private investigator and Emily Hartwood is the niece of the Jeremy Hartwood (The person who committed suicide). Both of them are in search of piano, which contains a suicide note to find the solution of the suicide case. Player will found a series of books and notes during the game to reveal the story of the game.

This is an entertaining and shooting video game. 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand is a third-person shooter, so you’ll be running and gunning with your overly muscled character in full view. This game is developed by Swordfish Studios and is published by THQ for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This game focuses on rapper 50 Cent. There is a fictional plot in this game.

Plot

This game is about a rapper named 50 Cent. Three co player members are in the game can be of the group, G-Unit crew: Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks, or DJ Whoo Kid, each member of the group has the specialization in the different combat techniques. This game is set in a Middle Eastern country in an urban warzone. The G-Unit and 50 Cent are there to play a rap concert.

Game play

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand is not only about the warzones but this game also includes vehicle missions like road chase and shoots out. By placing a call on payphones hidden on each level, a feature called “Shop” is activated in the game. The weapons in this game are divided into four main categories.

  • Handguns (Revolvers and pistols)
  • Close Combat Weapons (Short guns)
  • Assault Weapons (Machine guns and rifles)
  • Explosive Weapons (Hand grenades and rocket launchers)

In each level of the game there are target enemies (5 enemies per level) and collectables and crates of gold bars. To complete different levels, there are certain achievements to be gained, like getting all the weapons in a category, getting certain amount of cash, targeting enemies and getting different posters. There are songs and videos, which are unlocked and several music tracks for the game.

Reception

Video game critics well received this game scoring 7 out of 10.
